PRIVACY POLICY

1. INTRODUCTION

DEEVE operates deeve.ca. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit our website or make a purchase from us. By using our site, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following types of information:

  • Personal identification information: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address
  • Payment information: credit card details (processed securely via third-party payment processors — we do not store card numbers)
  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, referring URLs, and cookies
  • Order information: purchase history, product preferences, and communications with us

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfill your orders
  • Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and delivery notifications
  • Respond to customer service inquiries
  • Send marketing communications (only with your consent)
  • Improve our website and product offerings
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Prevent fraud and protect the security of our platform

4. SMS COMMUNICATIONS

DEEVE runs two separate text message programs, on two different numbers, under two separate consents. Opting in to one never opts you in to the other, and replying STOP to one number does not affect the other.

Order and customer-care texts — (855) 633-4131. You may consent in either of two ways:

  • Order notifications. By entering your mobile number and ticking the consent checkbox on our Text updates page (deeve.ca/pages/text-updates). The checkbox is never ticked for you, and consent is never required to place an order.
  • Customer care. By texting our toll-free number (855) 633-4131 first. Your message is your consent to receive our replies about your inquiry and your order.

The messages we send on this number are limited to order confirmations, shipping and tracking updates, out-for-delivery and delivery confirmations, and replies to your own inquiries. We never send marketing, promotional or advertising texts on this number.

Marketing texts — (877) 651-7849. You may consent by ticking the marketing text box at checkout or on our sign-up form. That box is never ticked for you, it is separate from the order-notification consent above, and consent is never required to place an order. These messages are promotional: new arrivals, offers and other announcements about DEEVE. An opt-in you gave before we launched marketing texts does not enroll you — only a new, separate opt-in does.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. To opt out at any time, reply STOP to any message from the number in question. To get help, reply HELP. You can also contact us at support@deeve.ca.

How we handle your number. We collect it only where you give it to us — at checkout, on our text-updates or sign-up forms, or when you text us first. We use it to send the messages described above and to keep a record of your consent, and we store it with your customer record for as long as your consent stands; section 8 covers retention and section 9 covers your rights, including access and deletion. We share it only with the providers that deliver these messages for us — our SMS provider, Shopify, and our business phone provider, Quo — and with mobile carriers to deliver the message. No mobile information will be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for marketing purposes. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchase.

For carrier support: supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Rogers, Bell, Telus, and most major carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

If you opt in to email marketing at checkout or sign-in, you may receive promotional emails from DEEVE. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us at support@deeve.ca.

6. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with trusted third parties only as necessary to operate our business, including:

  • Payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments, Stripe) to process transactions
  • Shipping carriers (e.g., UPS) to fulfill and deliver orders
  • Marketing platforms (e.g., Shopify Messaging) to send emails with your consent
  • Business phone and messaging providers (e.g., Quo) to send transactional text messages and handle calls with your consent
  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site usage
  • Advertising partners (e.g., Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok) to measure and improve our ads and to show our ads to people who may be interested in them. This can include the pages you view, items added to your cart, purchases, and device information, and, where you have given it to us, your email address or phone number in hashed (encoded) form so a partner can match activity to its own users.
  • Legal authorities if required by law or to protect our rights

All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

7. COOKIES

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your browsing experience, analyze site traffic, personalize content, and measure and deliver our advertising, including through pixels and tags placed by the advertising partners named in section 6. You can control cookie settings through your browser, and you can manage the ads you see through each platform’s own ad settings. Disabling cookies may affect certain features of our site.

8. DATA RETENTION

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order data is typically retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.

9. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal obligations)
  • Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes
  • Withdrawal of consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

10. CANADIAN PRIVACY LAW (PIPEDA)

We comply with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We collect only the information necessary for the purposes identified, obtain consent where required, and provide individuals with access to their information upon request.

11. GDPR — EUROPEAN USERS

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal bases for processing your data include contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and consent. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

12. CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)

13. SECURITY

We implement industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption, secure payment processing, and access controls to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their privacy policies.

15. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our store is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

16. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
