Most engagement rings sit under three millimeters across the finger. This one is 5.3mm, and much of how it wears follows from that. A wide band covers more of the finger, fits tighter at the same measured size than a narrow one, and often does the job a wedding band would otherwise do beside it.

Across that width run two rows of pave, 28 stones in all, separated by a polished border of gold. The border is the part that makes the design work. Small stones set in a field tend to blur into one gray mass at arm's length; a bright line of metal between the rows gives the eye an edge to hold, so two rows keep reading as two rows.
