2ct Princess Lab Grown Diamond Ring | 14K Gold

The princess cut exists to save the crystal. A diamond grows as an octahedron, two pyramids base to base, and a square outline keeps most of that rough where a round brilliant grinds more than half of it away. The trade has priced squares under rounds of equal grade ever since, which is why the princess is still the least expensive route to a two-carat center.

The efficiency comes out of the stone's depth. A princess carries much of its weight below the girdle in a steep pavilion instead of spreading it across the face, so it stands taller in the setting than a round of the same weight and presents a more compact, harder-edged face. A block of light rather than a disc of one.

Grown by CVD and certified by IGI, at G–H color and VS1–VS2 clarity, with polish and symmetry both graded Excellent. Symmetry is the grade to read on a square. A circle can absorb a small error because the eye has no straight line to check it against; four sides and four corners hand the eye a ruler.

Four prongs hold it, one over each corner, where a square needs its metal. The band is 1.50mm, the finished ring 3.2 grams, in solid 14K white gold or 14K yellow gold with a white gold head. IGI report included, warrantied for life.
