A byzantine is among the most intricate of chain patterns: small round links folded in pairs and woven through one another, so the chain builds into a dense band of interlocking loops. This one is 14K yellow gold and 7.1mm wide, wide enough for the pattern to read clearly from a distance while staying smooth and supple at the neck.

It is offered in two lengths: 15.4 g at 18 inches and 17.0 g at 20. That weight gives the woven band a full, even drape, with real presence and no stiffness.

Eighteen inches rests at or just below the collarbone, where the texture frames an open neckline. Twenty settles a little lower and sits well over a plain top or a scooped neckline. It is complete on its own and needs no pendant.
