Hang a horizontal bar from an ordinary chain and it will not stay horizontal. A chain twists along its own axis, so anything wide attached to it rotates until it shows an edge. An omega solves that by not being a chain: short flat segments articulated edge to edge over a flexible backing curve around the neck and refuse to twist, so the bar stays in one plane.

How to Choose a Diamond Necklace

Decide first whether you want the diamonds gathered or scattered.
