A V is the one pendant shape that agrees with the chain it hangs on. The chain already draws a V as it falls from the back of the neck, and a chevron simply finishes the line, which is why it settles onto an open neckline where a round pendant of the same weight can look pinned on.

Twenty-nine round diamonds run the two arms at 0.30 carat total weight. The difficulty in a chevron is the corner. Stones set along a straight run can be identical, but at the vertex the row has to change direction without opening a gap, so the seats are cut at converging angles and the stones graduate toward the point. Done poorly, the line of light breaks exactly where the eye goes first.
