Puffy post hoop earrings in electroformed 14K yellow gold, 22.50 mm wide and 21.80 mm long, about 6.2 grams, with a snap lock. Electroforming grows gold instead of casting it. A conductive form is suspended in a gold solution and current is run through it until metal has deposited across the whole surface, atom by atom, to the thickness the design calls for. The form is then removed, and what remains is a seamless hollow body of solid gold with no join, no solder, and nothing poured.

What the technique buys is volume. These measure 22.50mm across and 21.80mm from top to bottom at 6.2 grams, and there is no other way to make a rounded hoop that large in 14K gold and still have it be comfortable on a lobe all day. A solid hoop of the same dimensions would be several times the weight and no bigger to look at.

Because the surface was formed rather than assembled, no seam line runs around the hoop to interrupt the reflection. A snap lock closes it, seating flush against the body. The gold is the same 14K alloy as anything else in the case. What differs is the process that brought it into shape, not the material or the karat.
