A 0.70 cttw round trellis diamond engagement ring in solid 14K white gold, its natural diamonds led by a 0.50 ct center stone, I (near-colorless) in color and SI2 (slightly included) in clarity. On most rings the head is a separate part. It is fabricated on its own and soldered to the shank, and that joint is where a ring is likeliest to fail after years of wear. A trellis has no joint. The prongs are continuations of the band itself, curving up and crossing beneath the stone, so the metal holding the diamond is the same metal that goes around the finger.

From the side it reads as an X of curved arms with the stone suspended in the crossing. The profile is the view a wearer sees all day, and it is precisely where a plain soldered head has nothing to offer.

The center is a 0.50 carat round in four trellis prongs. Ten more round diamonds, 0.20 carat between them, are set into the 2.5mm shank on either side of it, eleven stones in all.
