A Cuban link choker necklace in solid 14K yellow gold, about 8.9 g at 16 inches, polished to a high shine. Sixteen inches puts a chain on the neck rather than the chest, and that changes what the link has to do. It must lie flat around a far tighter radius, which is precisely the problem Cuban geometry was developed to solve: every link is given a half turn and then pressed, so it seats against its neighbor instead of standing on edge.

Flattened and interlocked, the links present one near-continuous polished plane. From a few steps away a Cuban choker reads as a solid band of gold, and it only resolves into separate links for someone close enough to be looking on purpose.
