Large Stretch Mesh Bracelet in 14K Yellow Gold

Mesh is mostly geometry. The gold is drawn down into fine wire and then knitted into a fabric of interlocking loops, which is how a band 8.80mm across comes to 6.7 grams. A solid bar of the same width and length would be a far heavier object, and it would wear like one.

Width is where that difference becomes physical. A wide rigid bracelet must be sized to the wrist, because it can only make contact in two or three places; a wide mesh contains thousands of small hinges, so it lies down over the wrist bone, follows the taper of the forearm and takes contact along its whole face. Nothing digs in, since there is no edge stiff enough to do the digging.

There is no clasp on it. The weave expands over the knuckles and contracts again above the wrist, and on a band this wide that matters more than it would on a narrow one: the wider the bracelet, the more awkward a clasp is to reach one-handed and the more surface it interrupts. What you get instead is an unbroken run of polished gold all the way around, with no hardware anywhere in it.
