A 2.50 mm dainty rolo chain bracelet in solid 14K yellow or white gold, 7 inches, about 1.4 g. A circle has no corners, and that is a structural statement before it is a decorative one. Stress concentrates wherever a form changes direction sharply; a closed round link has no such place, so a pull spreads evenly around its whole circumference with nothing for a load to focus on.
