A 1.33 cttw split shank round diamond engagement ring in solid 14K white gold, its natural diamonds led by a 0.97 ct center stone, I (near-colorless) in color and I1 (included) in clarity. A split shank puts empty space on either side of the center stone. The band divides before it reaches the head and passes by in two arcs, leaving two windows of nothing where a solid shank would put metal. The eye measures a stone against what surrounds it, and a stone surrounded partly by air reads larger than the same stone surrounded by gold.

Along those arcs sit 22 round diamonds, 0.36 carat between them, scallop set: the metal between neighbors is cut down into curves so more of each girdle stays visible. Less wall, more stone, and a row that keeps its brightness when the ring is seen from the side.

The center is a round of at least 0.97 carat, and that number is worth noticing. Diamond values step up at round-number thresholds, so a stone a hair under a carat costs meaningfully less than one that crosses it, while the difference in diameter is a fraction of a millimeter.
