Natural diamonds at three carats become a conversation about price before they become a conversation about light. Price per carat does not stay flat as weight climbs; it accelerates, because large rough is rare and a big clean crystal cannot be assembled out of small ones. Mined stones at this weight cost far more than six times what half a carat of the same grade costs, and that curve is what forces the compromises.

The usual answer, then, is a quiet trade: two color grades down, a clarity nobody would have accepted at a carat, or simply less weight than the buyer came in for. Lab grown removes the trade instead of dressing it up. 3.00 carats total at G color and VS2 clarity, IGI certified, with neither grade surrendered to reach the number.

The setting is deliberately plain. Four prongs in solid 14K gold, yellow or white, on push-back posts — no halo, nothing wrapped around the girdle, nothing added to make the stone read as more than it already is. At this size a stud is the whole piece, and the only job left to the metal is to hold the diamond and stay out of the way.

Solid 14K gold in either color, with the DEEVE lifetime warranty.

Buying Guide

How to Choose Lab-Grown Diamond Stud Earrings

Carat weight (total, across both earrings) sets the overall presence: 0.50–1.00ct total suits subtle, everyday studs; 1.50–2.00ct balances everyday elegance with visible sparkle; and 3.00–4.00ct makes a bold statement. Metal colour is a matter of preference rather than durability — 14K yellow gold offers a warm, classic look, while 14K white gold is rhodium-plated for a brighter, more contemporary finish that maximizes diamond brilliance. Both are solid 14K gold on every DEEVE stud, never plated or vermeil, and set with the same G colour, VS2 clarity IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How is the 3.00 carat total split between the two earrings?

One and a half carats in each ear. The 3.00 ct figure is the two stones together.

Is anything given up on grade to reach 3.00 carats?

No. G colour and VS2 clarity, the same grade carried at every weight in this range, IGI certified. At this size the usual trade is two colour grades down or a clarity nobody would have accepted at a carat; neither has been made here.

Why is the 3.00 ct setting so plain?

Deliberately. Four prongs in solid 14K gold on push-back posts — no halo, nothing wrapped around the girdle, nothing added to make the stone read as more than it already is. At this size the stud is the whole piece, and the metal's only job is to hold the diamond and stay out of the way.

How does this compare to other 3.00 ct stud earrings?

Three carats total is a confident, occasion-ready size without tipping into costume territory. The G colour and VS2 clarity grade holds up at this scale, where lower-quality stones become far more noticeable.

How does the 3.00 ct compare with the 2.00 ct and 4.00 ct pairs?

The 2.00 ct still reads as elevated daily wear; at 3.00 ct each stone reads individually and carries real presence. The 4.00 ct is the end of the range. Grade, setting and backing are the same across all three.

Do the yellow gold and white gold versions hold the same stones?

Yes. Both carry the same 3.00 ct total at G colour and VS2 clarity, four-prong set on push-back posts, and both arrive with an IGI certificate. Only the gold differs.
