4 C's Explained
What F-G and VS2-SI1 Actually Mean
Color: F–G The diamond color scale runs from D (perfectly colorless) to Z (visibly yellow). F and G sit at the top of the near-colorless range, indistinguishable from D or E to the naked eye, and significantly more accessible in price. In a tennis bracelet setting, the difference between D and G is invisible without magnification.
Clarity: VS2–SI1 The clarity scale runs from FL (Flawless) to I3 (visibly included). VS2 and SI1 diamonds contain inclusions that are not visible to the naked eye under normal viewing conditions, what the industry calls "eye-clean." In a tennis bracelet with dozens of stones, eye-clean clarity is the practical standard. Flawless grading at this scale would add significant cost with no visible benefit.
