Crushed ice is the trade name for what this cut does to light, and it is a fair description. A radiant's facets are numerous and laid out without the neat radial symmetry of a round, so rather than a few large flashes you get a mosaic of small ones firing at slightly different moments. The stone never settles into one expression.

That counts for more as weight goes up, because heavier stones get looked at for longer. A 1.50 carat diamond spends real time under close inspection, and a mosaic gives the eye somewhere to keep going. It also holds up where step cuts flatten: dim rooms, evening light, anywhere the light is arriving weakly and from one direction.

The metal choice here is worth reading properly. It is made in solid 14K white gold, or in 14K yellow gold with a white gold head, and the head is not a saving. Prongs touch a diamond at four points, and yellow metal in contact with a near-colorless stone pushes warmth into the corners where it sits. A white head keeps the band yellow and the stone white.
