Our 5 carat cushion: a lab-grown diamond solitaire engagement ring in solid 14K white or yellow gold, four prongs holding a single cushion-cut stone. It is G (near-colorless), VS1 (very slightly included), with Excellent polish and symmetry, and carries an IGI certificate.
Five carats of cushion is grand but never harsh. Large facets throw big, slow flashes of fire that are visible across a room, and the soft square outline gives the stone a vintage glamour. It is a ring for someone who wants size with a gentle character.
Under its soft outline is a CVD lab-grown diamond, graded by the International Gemological Institute; the IGI paperwork is part of what arrives in the box. Because it is lab-grown, it costs approximately 70% less than a natural diamond of the same size and grade.
