Diamond diameter does not keep pace with diamond weight. Weight follows volume, which grows with the cube of the dimensions, so doubling the carats of a round brilliant widens its face by only about a quarter. It is the most useful piece of arithmetic in a jewelry store, and it explains what a heavier eternity band is really buying.

Most of it is width. At 4.70mm across, this one covers a real share of the finger, and width is what registers from the far side of a table. The 5.96 carats it carries is what registers when someone is close enough to look at individual stones. Those two effects arrive at different distances, and both of them are being paid for.

The stones are round brilliants in a common prong setting, sharing their prongs so that as little gold as possible interrupts the row. A round brilliant is faceted to send light back out through its own crown rather than leak it out the sides, and in a band, where the finger blocks everything from below, that self-sufficiency is why it still looks bright at the end of a long day.

How to Choose a Diamond Eternity Ring

Sizing comes first with a full eternity band. Because the diamonds continue the whole way around, the ring is made to size rather than resized later — so confirm your size before ordering, and note that wider bands wear snug. Carat weight then sets the presence: 2.00–3.00ct total reads as a fine, everyday line; 4.00–5.00ct is the balanced middle; 6.00–8.00ct makes the band the centrepiece, with width scaling from roughly 2.9mm to 6.4mm alongside it.
