Nothing else in a jewelry box is as hard as the stones on this band, and that has a consequence most people meet years later. Diamond sits at the very top of the hardness scale and gold sits near the bottom of it. Where the two are pressed together and moved against each other a few thousand times a day, only one of them gives ground.

So a stone-set band worn tight against a plain one will, in time, cut a groove into the plain one. There is no version of these two rings where that does not happen, only choices about it: give this band its own finger, put a plain spacer between it and anything you care about, or accept that the softer ring is the one you will eventually have refinished. A goldsmith can build a worn shank back up. That is a far smaller job than replacing a diamond.

At 6.0mm carrying 7.00 carats of step cut, this band is wide enough to be the entire argument on a finger, which makes wearing it by itself less of a concession than it sounds.

Because the diamonds continue the whole way around, the ring is made to size rather than resized later — so confirm your size before ordering, and note that wider bands wear snug.
